Art is something that just happened to me. I didn't ask for it, or pray to God to give me fantastic artistic skills {actual skill level still pending} so I can do this thing called Graphic Design. Maybe the real secret to my artistic abilities simply resides in the genes. When you have family members that possess the raw ability to draw and create, you're bound to pick it up.
As a young lad I was exposed to the tendency of being off-task in class, by sometimes not paying attention to what the teacher was explaining, and instead intrigued by doodling on any clean area of paper or desk surface. I wasn't alone in this innocent childhood misconduct, I had partners in artistic crime trying to out duel each other with the No. 2 pencil. I admired the creativity and innocence of the act with only our imaginations to hold us back.
I'm not schooled by any of the fine arts schools or design institutes scattered here and yonder throughout the world. However, many of the design professionals who have authored books have been my teachers by default. Nor am I deeply knowledgeable of the vast history of art, and I don't classify myself as an expert of graphic design for time and experience will deem that possible. For now, I'm a student and a practitioner trying to form a path in this intense profession.
